Homemade Lotion
Posted by Heather on April 16, 2012
I finally got some time to get around to making another batch of lotion, with the forethought to take pictures to share with you. I followed the recipe from here.
I started with 1/4 cup of beeswax pastiles, and 1 1/2 cups coconut oil melted together in a pint jar in a pan of simmering water. You can order your beeswax here.
Once completely melted, take out of the water, stir gently, and allow to cool.
As it is cooling, keep inserting a fork into the lotion, and “whip” it every so often. I went every 5 minutes, because I am OCD like that. ![]()
I then added some peppermint essential oil, and whipped. Cover, and use! I figured this pint sized jar will last me about 2-3 weeks, since my whole family uses it.
You can also download some great printable labels here for your lotion.
