Idiot’s Guide to Fermenting Foods- review and GIVEAWAY
Posted by Heather on June 11, 2012
Well, when you are a successful blogger with an online following, you begin an online ecourse. When that is successful, you start another, then another.
Finally, you write a book.
And, Wardeh from GNOWFGLINS has done it all! With amazing grace, style and panache, I might add.
The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Fermenting Foods is easy to read, easy to understand, and easy to follow. Using traditional techniques, Wardeh shows you how easy it is to get the most complete nutrition from your food. From making sourdoughs to chutneys and fermented drinks chock full of vitamins, recipes in this book contain simple, easy to find ingredients that most of us already have.
Wardeh explains the science and the whys behind fermentation and guides you on the path step by step. My favorites so far are the spinach kraut and the guacamole. Both were favorite foods of mine, but the transformation they took on by addind simple steps made the flavors pop, and the food lasted so much longer in the fridge as well.
I can’t recommend this book enough, especially if you are new to the world of transforming your diet from the processed standard fare to REAL, wholesome foods! And, I am honored to be giving away a FREE copy of this book for one lucky reader, too! To enter, simply leave a comment on this post. Click on the link below for extra entries as well.

What made me smile in the last week? (has anyone else even answered this question? LOL) The fact that Honey-Face is always so positive even when we are going through bad stuff. He’s my rock! He keeps me from totally freaking out sometimes.
Anyway, I’m fairly new to taking Wardeh’s eCourses and I love them so far. I’ve been drooling over her book for a while now wishing we could afford it. I hope, oh how I hope, to win this one. Thanks for offering this giveaway.

What has made me smile in the last week? I successfully made a “butter” cream frosting without using any dairy. I think it is going to be a boon to folks who cannot have dairy products.

Am new to the whole lacto fermentation process so consider myself a legitimate “idiot”. But with a recent candida overgrowth diagnosis combined with celiac and dairy allergy, I’ve become a fast learner!
